MACROSS 7 FLEET

BATTLE 7

Battle 7 is the military flagship of the fleet. It flies attached to the front of City 7 but can separate from the city during battle. Modeled closely in design and function after the original Macross battleship, it also has a separate folding mechanism and is capable of transformation into battroid mode. The normal starship mode is called "Cruiser mode" while the battroid form is called "Attack mode." The ship is controlled from the main bridge and contains weapons and repair facilities, hangar bays, and living quarters for its military crew.

Battle 7 can hold up to 350 variable fighters of all kinds and is also armed with lasers, missiles, and reaction weapons. Reaction weapons were forbidden from use by the Earth United Forces treaty, but are included in the Battle 7 arsenal as a protective measure. Battle 7 carries most of Macross 7's fighting force, including the elite army squadron Diamond Force, and later, Emerald Force. Battle 7 also has a Pinpoint Barrier Defense shielding system, a standard shielding system aboard all US Spacy medium-class ships. The PBS projects four disc-shaped force fields along the hull of ship to deflect enemy weapons and is controlled separately from the main control center of the ship. Defense points include the bridge, the comm tower, the engines, the hangars, and weapons systems.

"The "Macross Cannon," attached to Battle 7's right arm in battroid mode, is a heavy particle cannon which can emit an energy blast powerful enough to destroy almost half a fleet. The Macross Cannon may also be detached from Battle 7 to function as an automated fully separate unit, controlled from the main ship.

Battle 7, as well as City 7, contains communication equipment able to transmit fold communication to other fleets, planets, and the United Forces Headquarters on Earth. Though these messages are not instantaneous and may take time to arrive, it keeps the fleet in touch with other colonists and makes sure that they do not feel entirely alone in space.

The bridge of Battle 7 is where the main action takes place, with its crew of all-female Bridge Operators, the full-sized Zentradi Macross 7 advisor, Exedore Formo, and the captain of Battle 7, Maximillian Jenius. Lieutenant Chiba's main Sound Energy detector and Sound Booster control system is also located on the bridge.
